Default Winter Tire size

My daughter had a Mazda 3 and has 4 winter tires size 205/55/R16. She just bought a 2009 Elantra, I saw on line the odometer and speedometer will be off a little but does anyone know for sure if this size tire will work on the 2009 Elantra GL which has size 15 tires.

Thanks.

Well, I need some more information.

Are you trying to mount the 16" tires on the 15" wheels? If so, no, they will not fit.

The 205/55-16 tires are almost the same overall height as the factory 195/65-15 tires on the Elantra so the tires will be fine but you will need 16" wheels to mount them on.

Are the 16" winter tires mounted on Mazda wheels? If they are, the Mazda wheels "should" fit because they have the same 5 on 114.3-mm bolt pattern. However, you will have to verify if the center bore is the same size and if the wheel clears the calipers and other suspension pieces. If they are not mounted on wheels, you will need to purchase a set of 16" wheels that fit the Elantra.

Thanks for the response.

The tires are already on 16 inch rims that fit the Mazda.

So if someone has not already done this I will need to try them out to verify.

Thanks.

Sorry but our mind-reading skills are not that good here. You have to give us some information. Like what year, what size wheels and tires you have now.

Does anyone know what the bolt pattern is for the 2009 Elantra Touring? 5x114.3?
