DIY - 2007 Entourage Fuel Tank Air Filter
In the owner's manual of the 2007 Hyundai Entourage van, it talks of a fuel tank air filter. Recently, I went down to the dealer to but this "stealer only" .. I mean dealer-only item. I think it cost about $15.00 or so. At any rate, I thought I'd put together a DIY so that a novice (like myself) can pull this off by his/her self. And don't worry, this isn't a pressurized line or anything real special. It's about on par with changing the oil in terms of difficulty.
The filter is located right by the gas tank intake area (LEFT rear tire for the Entourage).
Step #1 Put your car up on jack stands because the the left rear tire is coming off.
Step #2 Take the inner wheel lining thing off. There's a bunch of metal and plastic screws (plus plastic screw housings) that all need to come out. Careful ... don't use a screw gun or you'll strip those little plastic buggers in no time. If anyone knows where I can get some replacements of these horribly designed plastic screws, let me know.
You'll have to use a little muscle to get this housing up and out of the wheel well. But it will come.
Step #3 Well .. you should see your old filter just sitting up in the wheel well. A 10mm socket will take that guy right out and then just clamp the new one right in there. Put it all back together and you're done! FYI .. I used 76 foot lbs for the torque spec on the wheel lug nuts.
