2004 Getz warning sound
When the car is stopped and ignition turned off and drivers door is opened there is a warning alarm. Any idea what this may be? Al other doors and boot are closed and lights are off.
Thanks for ny ideas

Does the sound change at all when the key is put in the ignition? And does the sound happen when the engine is running and the drivers door is opened? Did this just start happening? My only guess is there is a fault with the ignition that thinks the key has not been removed.
Either that or some other sensor that North American cars don't have. Maybe it's warning that the parking brake is not applied or the shifter is not in gear. Is it a manual or automatic?

Hi there!
I am a newbie, but I think I may have the answer you are looking for! I had the same problem with my Getz. The alarm is your stereo telling you to remove it, if it's the same as mine it should be a Sony face off? If so, remove it. The alarm only sounds for a bit then goes off, it's just reminding you to remove it, it's a security measure!
Have you ever had any problems with a squealing fan belt? Whenever it gets cold or damp when I start my car the belt briefly squeals, then it's fine. In the summer or when it's hot it's fine, only happens when it's cold. 60 seconds after the car has been running it's fine. I've had a new fan, power steering belt and a new battery, but it still does it when it's cold. Have you had this happen?
