Collision warning system - Kona
Hi Everyone! I have been dealing with some major headaches with my 2020 Hyundai Kona lately and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this before. My collision warning system alarms and warning lights keep coming on while I am driving as well as the check engine light. When this happens the car, which is running smoothly, will then be stuck in 6th gear and will not accelerate quickly even with my foot to the floor. After a lot of internet searching I have already replaced the battery, the cam shaft sensor and the safety neutral switch. All to no avail. I am at my wits end. The car does have about 144K miles on it. And is in pretty great shape overall, I just have to drive a lot for work. Has anyone experienced this before? Have you come up with a solution? The sensor is not blocked but I am wondering if it needs to be recallibrated? We are changing all of the spark plugs tonight as well. Just in case. I have taken it to 2 mechanics. One who told me to just buy a new car (I wish!) and another who told me to replace the battery. I am debating on taking it to the dealership but wanted to try here first because I would much rather do it myself than spend a couple of thousand. Any help would be amazing!

It sounds like your issue could be related to the transmission control module (TCM) or a sensor calibration problem. Since you've already replaced key components like the battery and camshaft sensor without success, try recalibrating the collision warning sensors or inspecting the TCM and its wiring for faults. If these steps don't help, you might need to consult a specialist who can diagnose Hyundai electronics specifically.
