Unhappy 2002 santa Fe Engine check light

Hi

I own a 2002 santa fe 2.4 which has been a good car. Monday morning the car failed to start the engine turned over but did not fire. After a few atempts it started fine and has done ever since. However the check engine light is now on. The car drives fine. I have checked all the levels and every thing seems fine.

Any suggestions and help will be great.

Thanks Mark

You state the MIL is illuminated,,, go have it scanned and see what is stored..

Report back with proper code(s) --> P-XXXX is what I am looking for.

As was mentioned, go get it scanned. You can usually go to AutoZone
and places like that and they'll do it for free. Write the code down
and post back here. If you go to the dealer or mechanic they'll charge
a diagnostic fee of about $90.00, unless you happen to know a
local mechanic really well who will do it for nothing. Good luck.

Exclamation This almost sounds like my car

Hi all. Sounds like something very similar that's going on with my car. I disconnected the battery to reset the computer. First, and only code to come up so far was P 0201. Any thoughts? Wonder if this is a common problem for this model/make/year.

Haven't been able to drive it around...so don't know if more codes would pop up.

P-0201 = injector circuit//open cylinder #1

Inspect injector coil, and related wiring for open circuit as detected by PCM logic.. varmit chew the injector harness ??

0201 is not a 7+ yr common code here.. 0301, 0302, 0302, 0304, 0171, yes.
