2004 Santa Fe - no RH low beam solution
I've have just completed solving a problem regarding no RH low beam on a 2004 Santa Fe 2.4 litre with manual transmission.
This car had the Daytime Running Lights System (manditory in Canada)
Bulbs and fuses were swapped to no avail.
The wiring colours for the headlight wiring harness going to the bulbs are:
Red: Hot wire for both high and low beams
White: Low beam grounding (goes to ground when low beam is on)
Green: High beam grounding (goes to ground when high beam or Daytime Running Lights are on)
This colour code information is missing in the OEM wiring diagram.
The solution to "no low beam on RH side" was to run a new wire between the two white wires (low beam ground) on the headlight wiring harness.
SAFETY NOTE: 12V is present on the headlight lamps *even* when the car is not running or when the lights are not on. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery prior to working with the headlight wiring.
Regards,
Bernie
