2007 Sante Fe questions
The wife currently has a 2003 Sante Fe and likes the looks of the 2007's. I have a few questions:
1) Is the 2007 any longer than my 2003? I have a very small garage!
2) I pull a 2,000 lb boat twice a year, up to the lake in spring and back in fall.
a) Will the hitch currently on my 2003 work on a 2007?
b) Will the trailer plug (4-wire) that is just a plug in the line that plugs into the wiring in the backwork?
3) On another forum I read where most Sante Fe's are built with a "two prep package" which increases towing capacity to 3500 lbs.
a) Is this true?
b) How can I tell if it is added?
c) What is added to increase the capacity?
Thanks,
Larry

RE: 2007 Sante Fe questions
I just picked up a Santa Fe 7-07, so I have been checking the stickers. The towing package includes the hitch, larger radiator & fan and wiring connection. I believe that's what it had, it's not a standard option. I saw a few of them as options while checking out 3 dealers.
Just measure from mirror to mirror at the dealer. If you have a standard garage door, I got a big 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee in one of those portable shed/garages with a standard garage door I later added on. Depth is another problem.
You can always put down a 2X4 where the front wheel should stop. Just pull up until you feel the bump. Height may be a consideration too. They are rather tall.
