I allowed my girlfriend to drive my late wifes Santa Fe and she managed to "lightly" rear end a vehicle in bumper to bumper traffic. I managed to repair all of it and get the AC recharged. However, I found out that the steering wheel controls on the left (radio controls and phone controls) do not function, although the Radio runs fine manually. Right side controls on the steering wheel (cruise, settings, etc), work fine.
I can't seem to locate a fuse dedicated to that. I'm making a guess that when the vehicle was worked on for the AC, they undid the battery and it lost its programming. Hoping someone can point me in a direction to check. I'm pretty good with cars, but not with the new computer controlled things called cars now....
One note, I drove the Santa Fe one evening and noticed that ALL of the steering wheel lights work. Even to the non-functional radio control buttons. Not sure what that means.
Any ideas of where to look or what to look for would be appreciated.

 

The system ,pretty sure uses the DATA BUS and body control module to relay commands from the steering wheel to the radio.

There may be a problem with a module not relaying the info to the radio.
This will require someone with the equip to check and verify the request is either being sent or possibly interrupted from getting to the radio.
