Default Class 2 Vehicle?

Hi. I am Canadian and looking to purchase a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited in the United States. I have found a dealer selling essentially a brand new vehicle as used (odometer 16 miles) for significantly less than elsewhere. Upon talking to their sales staff I have been told that it is a Class 2 vehicle. Apparantly upon final inspection at Hyundai's factory if there is any damage to the finish the vehicle is registered and auctioned off as used since it can no longer be sold as new. Has anybody else heard of this or am I being fed a bunch of salesman lies? My concern is that if this is true, is it only a factory second with respect to the finish or could there be mechanical flaws. Since the warranty is not transferrable across the borderit would be costly if I ran into a lot of mechanical trouble. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Default RE: Class 2 Vehicle?

We just purchased a 2008 Santa Fe "Class 2" and I was wondering what qualifies a vehicle to get a "class 2" designation. The car seems fine and only had 9 miles on it. The dealer told us that the shipping damage would only have been cosmetic and not structural. Is this truthful? I would hate to have purchased an $18K problem. The car did come with the full factory warranty including the 10/100 coverage. Any advice or light that could be shed on "class 2" vehicles would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
