Default engine number

hi
just joined the forum and hoped some one might be able to point me in the right direction as to where the engine number is located on the 2 litre santa fe td the year is a 2006 allso have a second same model but a 2003 would the engine numbers on both models be in the same places......thanks in advance

Hyundai does not offer diesel versions of their products in the U.S., so the service site will not list information for the engine in your vehicle. On most Hyundai engines I've looked at, the number is usually stamped on the block just above where the starter attaches to the bell housing.
