Default How to "re-activate" the Car-Stereo, after disconnected from the Battery?

Hi,

I am frankieboy and I am posting from Germany, hoping to get some help with the following problem I currently have.

As it was my original intention, to replace the factory-installed Car-Stereo (Type: "EMP301") in my Santa Fe (Type: "CM"), I disconnected the battery prior to remove the Radio.

Circumstances made me change my mind and - for now - I do intend to keep that Radio.

So I connected the battery again.

I would have expected, that now I would be asked to type in the Security-Code to re-activate it. As per the manual of the Radio, the Display of the Radio should show "1CDE" to put in the code.

But instead it showed "Code Error".

I´ve tried to push several buttons. Without any success.

Then I turned the tuning **** (right hand side of the radio). The Display changed a bit and a dot behind the "Error" appeared. Now the display indicates "Code Error." But moreover: nothing happened.

I turned it off and on again and turned the tuning **** again. Now the Display shows "FM1 10050" (it is not exactly the number - that I don´t remember - but I think that doesn´t make any difference if I would recall it exactly). It looks like a FM-frequency indication, which I can change, if I turn the tuning button. But moreover: nothing happened.

Again I disconnected/connected the battery, again hoping, that I will be asked to put in the Security Code after that. But I was wrong.

Now the Display also does not show "Code Error" as in the first attempt. Now it shows the "frequency-like" indication, that I described beforehand.

The Radio does not make any sound.

Any idea, how I can re-activate it???

I would like to avoid to drive to the next dealer, which is 25 miles away. I conclude, that he would like to see money to fix it. And my guess is, that I only will need to use a very particular combination of pressing buttons to get my problem out of the way.

Thank you so much!

Greetings from Germany
