Default Hunting gremlins

My fiance and I just purchased an 05 Santa Fe GLS 2.7 AWD. We brought it home yesterday and to our luck it snowed last night. I was truly impressed at how it did in the snow(I am a Jeep junkie myself). Well this morning we found out two things that are needed in winter here in CO didn't work. The washer sprayer and the rear defroster. The fog lights don't work either but I am less concerned with that for the time being. Aside from these three little things everything seems to be tip top.

The washer pump doesn't spray in the front or in the rear and so my first thought was bad fuse. It is good and the switch seems to be good since it will still operate the wipers in both front and rear. My thought is that it is the relay or the pump itself. I did some reading on the topic here on the forums and I don't think the pump/pump filter is clogged since you don't even hear the pump try to work.

The defroster however has me a little more stumped. The fuse is good and I can not find a relay for it so I am thinking it is the switch. When you press the button the little light doesn't come on. I checked the defroster on the window to see if any of the little lines had bee scraped thus breaking the connection but they all seem fine. The plugs on each side of the glass are also nice and firmly seated.

I have already priced out replacement parts for all related parts and it is on the inexpensive side so I am not worried about a costly repair.

Are any of these known issues or do they fall in the just a run of the mill random car repair class?

Any thoughts or direction would be very helpful
