Master cylinder?

Master cylinder?
My wifes 03, 60,000 mi has a brake problem. The carstops fine, but if I continue to push the brake pedal down, it will go down almost to the floor in about 5-6 seconds. There is no loss of fluid, so I'm thinking master cylinder. Any thoughts? We bought it used, so this repair is on us Also, anyone try Rockauto.com for parts? Good prices, fast shipping.

Chances are the master cylinder needs to be changed. The plungeris worn and allowing fluid to pass by it slowly

Master cylinder not been a common occurrence on Santa Fe... I have change HECU on each one we have had for pedal feel issues..
Couple things you need to do ahead of time to eliminate possibility -
Flush the entire brake system,, old fluid loses it' temp capability, so it will boil at lower temp,, possible air bubbles in system due to boiling fluid, air not compress well.
Make sure calipers move freely across the mounts.. stuck pin/pins will goof the pedal..
Pads good
After the system squared away and it act goofy,, then very possible the HECU is bypassing fluid internally.. HECU is $$$, add labor, bleed complete again, then run HECU bleed mode with GDS a couple time to finish.
