Miss Dead Pedal

Miss Dead Pedal
My 97 Avalon has a dead pedal for resting left foot while driving.
unfortunately my '08 Limited just has a funky area for left foot that doesn't feel right.
Solved problem by cutting a 2x4, about 7-8" long. Angled the bottom of one edge to fit flat on floor and cut a corner off to clear bump were foot should rest. Painted it black, bought a black stair tread a Lowe's and glued a piece to top. Voila! Works like a champ. A small velcro fastener stuck to bottom of block and to the plastic area where foot is supposed to go (on the carpet) keeps it from sliding!!

Here is his response.
The overall length is about 7 1/4", but you
can make it longer if you have big feet! I tapered the bottom edge, as you
can see, so it fits flat on the floor, and cut a bit out on the top left to
allow the pedal to fit close to firewall. Bought a rubber stair tread from
Lowes and cut piece to fit over 2x4 for foot placement. A little bit of
Velcro on the back sticks it lightly to the OEM floor pad, so it doesn't
slide around.

I get on the forum once in a while to see what's new, but haven't posted since the first time. Guess I need to stick around more.
