Default oil capacity 2002 santa fe 2.7L

Could someone please tell me how many quarts with filter for an oil change ? My parts store guy told me4.5 quarts with filter. After following his advice , the oil level on the dipstick was below the first dot - well below the F mark. I didn't get an owners manual when I bought it,so i'm in the dark about capacities , specs,etc... This is my first forum so please bear with me. THANKS ALL!

6. Fill the new engine oil through the oil filler cap.
Drain and Refill Oil quantity : 4.5 lit (4.74 U.S.qts., 3.95 lmp.qts.)

This from the Hyundai service site at http://www.hmaservice.com/. You can probably add a full 5 quarts. I doubt the extra 8 ounces would cause any problems for the engine.

Oil pan =4.44 qts (4.2 L)
Oil Filter = 0.32 qts (0.3 L)
Total = 4.76 qts (4.5 L)

The parts guy read the specs wrong. He saw 4.5 and assumed it was quarts but that's liters. Quarts is 4.76. If you put in 4.5 qts, you need to add a quarter quart. Somehow, I doubt that will make up the difference. Are you sure you used the correct filter? There are 2 that will fit but the sizes are different; one is almost half teh size of the other. Also, make sure you are checking the oil on level. Also, run the engine to circulate the oil into the filter then shut the engine off. Allow some time before checking to make sure all the oil has had time to drain back down into the pan.

Default RE: Brown engine coolant? 2002 santa fe 2.7 L

I sure don't like the look of it . Are there any colors made other than green? Looks to me like a 'peace of mind' system flush is the right thing to do . Any DIY tips ? Thanks

Sorry, I'm confusing this thread with another one. In that thread the oil amount was 6.23 qts in the 3.3L and 3.8L Lambda engine.

You are correct, 4.76 qts is correct for the 2.7L Delta.

I see in a different thread you have brown coolant. I'm wondering if you have an internal engine problem allowing some of the oil into the coolant. That would explain both the brown coolant and the low oil level. Not good news. Sorry.
