Default Replace power liftgate 2019 Santa Fe XL

I recently had one of the power struts on my 2019 Santa Fe XL break.

I purchased a new one and installed it but I feel like I missed a step. When I try to open it, it opens half way, beeps and then stops. Pushing the open button again just beeps with no movement.

I also tried disconnecting the battery for a minute and following the reset procedure in the manual (open gate, hold the Two buttons on the read gate until it beeps and closing it manually

Can we ask where you purchased the replacement ? It is not unusual for certain parts to be defective right out of the box. I'm talking about parts from you know where.

We try to be discrete , but this is an on going quality control over profit problem.

Folks need to be aware of country of origin . The parts maybe cheaper but you have to buy them twice to maybe get a good one.

I got it from an Amazon reseller.

https://www.sellerratings.com/amazon...umpartswhosale

They seem to review well and it shipped from the US.thet was conciderably cheaper than buying from Hyundai.

Amazon sells parts from all over. You need to ask where made.

Thanks. I contacted the vendor and based on the reply, I'm going to assume that they are out of China. I was just wondering if there is something that I missed before I work on a refund

When changing any tips on how to get to where the powered strut plugs in? Garage did the left 2 weeks ago and now the right has failed. Going to try and fix myself this time.

If I recall correctly, it wasn't that difficult. There is a panel just inside the door at the level of the plug. A small cover needs to be removed and a philips screw removed. Then the panel can be removed to access the plug.

I can see if I can get pictures later today.

If your under 60,000 miles this should have been a warranty item at no charge from Hyundai
