Santa Fe won’t fill with gas
So I bought a Santa Fe and noticed it was hard to fill. So i took it to a shop Because it also ran horrible and sometimes would randomly die and wouldn’t crank back. Well I got it back and it was the same as before. So I got it running normal with a lot of work but I’m still stuck with the problem of it not filling up. The gas pump continuously stops every two dollars. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also it does throw a evap emissions code. Also a evap valve stuck open code. If that helps

When filling up, gasoline fills gas tank.
The air inside the tank is displaced.
The air moves through hoses to the charcoal canister
The charcoal canister removes the hydrocarbons in the air
Then the air flows out through the vent valve (normally open)
A clogged hose, clogged charcoal canister, stuck closed vent valve can cause hard time filling up gasoline
Topping off after the tank is full can over fill tank and flood the charcoal canister thus making air flow impossible.
When engine is running, the purge valve opens (normally closed)
and the engine vacuum is used to pull air in from or through the charcoal canister
This removes the hydrocarbons from the canister
If the purge valve is stuck open then air from fuel tank can flood engine making it difficult to start or initial idle
Hope that helps a little
