Torque Converter lock up
Hello everyone,
My name is Mark and i'm from the Netherlands. I'm new to this forum and i already have a question: I have a 2008 Santa Fe 2.7 4WD automatic. It has the f4a51 transmission in it. A nice transmission, but when towing a caravan i put it in 3th gear (manually) because the engine is then pulling better. Only disadvantage I have is that the torque converter is not locking up in 3th, only in 4th.. (software??) I cannot drive in 4th with locked up converter, because the engine rpm's are too low for good pulling.
Anyone the same problem? If the transmission would lock up in 3th gear, it would save a lot of fuel and oil temperature of the transmission.
