Default tranny shifts

Ihave a 2005 sante fe. Sometimes whenI go to pass on the open highway the tranny seems to slip and rev before it engage's the passing gear. It has happened starting off from a stop light too. Is this normal. It feels like it needs a sec or two to catch up to the command to go...lol

Any one else find this with their sante fe's or know of an adjustment

Default RE: tranny shifts

I also have an '05 Santa Fe and my problem seems to be when shifting from 2nd to 3rd (about 25-30 mph), the problem is intermittent. The engine races, the tach jumps and I just coast along. When I remove my foot from the gas pedal the engine slows down, the tach jumps and it shifts gears smoothly. I took it to the dealer (they can't replicate the problem)and they had a service bulletin to reset the Learning Module, which seemed to correct the problem for about two days. The problem is back and I called the dealer and the service manager said I should log whenever it happens and the conditions. I think this response is BS, but he said unless they can reproduce the problem they can't really diagnose it and fix it. Anybody else have any ideas on this.

Thanks.
