Exclamation 06' GLS multi symptom

Engine had rough idle, on the way to advance to get a code reader it died( as if the fuel pump quit) coasted to a parking lot. immediately tried to troubleshoot.

1: vehicle stalled
2: would not turn over.
3: checked relays/fuses. relays/ fuses checked good
4: swapped similar relays around to test. no change.
5: Removed starter. had it checked. passed. took it to second parts store checked again. passed again.
6: starter "clutch" engages through system wiring but does not have strong rotation.
7: had to leave town for 6 days. bought a brand new battery(optima red top) tested and verified it was good before bringing it home before leaving. got back the battery was fully drained.
8: no key fobs with car. checked for immobilizer, could not detect what was described- more in depth needed?
9: began with test night to check for draw on battery with a fully charged optima and something from the interior is drawing on battery.
10: cannot hear fuel pump engage but have fuel pressure in specs.
11: took to hyundai, they claim locked motor. they did very little in efforts to troubleshoot and seemed sketchy at best with how they were conducting business.

looking to steps to find out what is drawing on the battery(known common problems etc) also what caused it to die. i did not get the trouble code.

i appreciate you all looking into this.

How many miles on the motor? Was the timing belt ever changed?

Driving down the road and it stalled the same as if you lost your fuel pump. Being new to one brand of vehicle doesnt make someone instantly incapable. Unfamiliar, yes.

In 06 Hyundai went to timing chain setup. Sure it's an 06? Easy to verify if engine is locked. Use a 22 mm socket half inch drive and try to turn the engine over by hand.

You are correct. The 2006 Sonata would have a 2.4L Theta 4-cylinder or a 3.3L Lambda V6 engine, both with a timing chain, not a belt.

First try to turn engine over. Turn the crank clockwise. If no go try the other direction. If turns need to verify fuel and spark

Anyone know any good places for motors? online or offline shopping is fine. i tried all the local yards in south eastern VA nothing less than 110k miles for $1,500. im sure this issue is in another thread so if you have any input i would be grateful. thank you.
