You can get a reman short block from your local Hyundai dealer. I just did a 09 model and the short block was 1400$' of coarse this doesn't include the oil pump/balance shaft assy. This part is 700.00$ And a complete engine gasket kit and labor. 1500 isn't bad for a complete engine as long as it doesn't have evidence of sludge. So I take it that you indeed verified that your engine is locked up?

 

Yes, i manually tried to turn the motor. it may take several months to save up for this, will i have to look into other items from sitting for an extended period of time?

 

Have you considered since the engine is "frozen mechanically" opening it up and being sure it is what you think. Many times we imagine the worst only to find we were wrong and the cause was simpler to correct. Since you can't afford to do much of anything else why not look at the extent of any damage. If the engine is wiped out, no loss, you are expecting this. If it is not as bad as you think , it may be cheaper to repair what is in the vehicle instead of going off the deep end and swapping engines which can come with its own problems.
