My 06 Sonata V6 has developed a really annoying dash rattle a few months ago. It's in the right side of the dash, toward the windshield. Sounds like it's coming from under the area where the headlight sensor is. The sound tends to be speed sensitive, gets louder at higher speeds. To me, it sounds like it's a rattle of possible air coming from a vaccumm hose. Some would describe it as a ongoing buzz. It never stops and it's driving me nuts! I took out the glove box, checked the cabin air filter, felt around in that area as much as I could but couldn't find anything loose. I'm thinking to access the part of the dash where it's coming from I may need to go in through the cowl?

My car only has 44,000 miles on it and I'm ready to trade it in because of this. The dealer has looked at it twice, confirmed hearing the noise but can't locate and resolve it. With each visit, it's at my expense because adjustments (such as rattles) are only covered for the first 12/mo, 12,000 mi.

Anyone else having this problem? Otherwise, I LOVE my Sonata, it rocks!

 

bring it in to your dealer there is a fix for it.
