Talking 09 Sonata Audio System Question

My wife and I just got a 2009 Sonata GLS with the popular package and sunroof. We picked it up and realized there was no bass in the sound at all. We figured out that our rental we had once and the loaner we had before we could take ours home both had sub woofers. I guess our car has the basic sound system with cd and xm. My question is, is there a way to get the sub woofer that comes on other models? If so, does it hook up easily to the standard radio/cd/xm?Am I better off buying something else? I don't want to spend a ton of money either. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sonatas equipped with the sub probably have a different amp to drive it. I know the Tiburon is that way. My advice, buy an aftermarket sub and amp. It will be way better than the OEM equipment and probably cheaper.

I'm a novice to car audio. I assume I can just hook up the amp and a sub to the existing receiver? How about a powered sub? Like the small things that go under the seat.

The 09 subwoofer is powerred by the same amp as the other speakers but all the speakers are cheap cones. they have good base but no high end. invest in new speakers all around.Factory woofer is 8" mounted in the rear deck under the cover. a nightmare to take off. The easiest way is best buy or similar store offering a deal on a woofer box with an amp to drop in the trunk if you don't mind losing some space. You can take it out when you need room. You'll also need a line level converter for the subwoofer signal wired into your existing speaker wire (right rear trunk behind panel) as well as power wire for woofer amp. ebayor walamrt wire kit $40,line level box $15. I took pics when i redid my entire system myself. Doors, gps, etc

the premium speakers have good bass but lacking in the high end. I put in alpine ref x. I'd sell you my premium factory speakers if you're interested. They came out 6 months after I bought the car.

Default AM reception

I am a new owner of a 2009 Sonata. I have horrible AM reception from this radio and have seen that many other owners have too. My question is to any who respond is, Has Hyundai determined the root of this and is this covered under the warranty? Any help would be great.
Thanks
