Default 2000 Sonata and the crank sensor

I have a 2000 Sonata with the V-6. Lately I've been having the following issues. While driving and idling the vehicle will immediately stop running then start up again. To be more descript, both the tach (and speedo while driving) will drop to 0 then jump back up again. It surges and stalls as well. At times it will kick out the P0335 code which I found was the crank sensor. The only problem is, there are two crank sensors and I have no idea which to replace. Is there anyway to diagnose this issue? Thank you for your assistance.

Theres only one crank sensor, there is also a cam sensor. That may be what you are getting confused with. BTW, you are lucky, the V6 cost half as much to replace the crank sensor as the I4.

2.7 V6 crank sensor is on block behind starter.. do it cold, so you do not burn arm on exhaust manifold/catalyst..

Best done from underneath.. likely find the plastic pigtail all craked and the insulation on the 3 wires inside all crumbled and bare copper exposed.

Fairly simple part swap,, just the bolt can be fun to get at..
