2000 Sonata Won't start
My 2000 Sonata 2.4L will not start. afew days ago the upper radiator hose split and overheated. I had it towed home and have replaced the hoses and thermostat.
It cranks, getting fuel to plugs but no spark.
I checked the ohms on the crank position sensor and its way up in the mega ohms across pins 2 and 3.
Is this the correct way to test?
And where the hell is it?
I have seen several options as to where it is...I thought it was behind the lower timing cover.
Any help would be appreciated..

Spinning your wheels, it is a HALL EFFECT (square wave),, best looked at with occilliscope.. scan it, see if you find a P-0335 code, or a segment time labeled code..

See above

HEHEHEHEE,,, see the green arrow on the pic..

It's only in 1 place on that engine..

Crank sensor is sorta common, but not all the time... Plan on replacing the timing belt, tensioner, balance shaft belt, and 2 drive belts at minimum.

Thanks for the pic..that's what I thought.
I have my belts off, just need to get the crank pulley and lower cover off.
Too dark now...need to use my impact to get those crank bolts off..kinda noisy job.
So the info in the book about the resistance check of the crank sensor isn't reliable? Don't have a scope..haven't used one in over 10 years.
