Default 2001 sonata 2.4l 4cyl swap to 2.5l v6?

Hey, I'm a new hyundai sonata owner and had a question in reference to possibly swapping the 2.4L 4cyl engine for the 2.5L V6 from the same year model? I had the assumption that the base model trim may be made to hold either engine, there seems to be a lot of extra room under the hood. Anyone know if this is a possible diy job?

For what? To what gain are you trying to achieve?
Waste of time and money. The 2.5L V6 is a crappy motor anyway.

Well I'm finding very little aftermarket support for the 4cyl and I can't seem to find anyone else talking about a motor swap either. I can't even find a good website for aftermarket accessories on this car... It's starting to feel like the 2001 model wasn't worth anything more, but everything on the car has been easy to work on so far.

To be honest, it's not. It's a fine daily driver but a waste of money to try and make a performance car out of it.
