2001 SONATA OVER REVING
Recently my wife's Sonata will over rev, the RPMs will bounce up 2k to 3k over what she was driving at. Also it stalls and and restarts as if it was flooded. Here are the codes it gave,
0455, 0128, 0118 and 0705. Any help is appreciated.

RE: 2001 SONATA OVER REVING
P0118 = Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input
P0128 = Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)
P0455 = Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak)
P0705 = Transmission Range Sensor Circuit malfunction (PRNDL Input)

RE: 2001 SONATA OVER REVING
I think I would have the engine temperature sensor checked out and/or replaced, have the codes cleared out and see if the P0118, P0128 and P0455 come back. Could also be the coolant thermostat stuck open, but I don't think the P0118 would necessarily occur. Regardless, the ECM thinks the engine is running cold and setting the fuel/air mixture too rich and interfering with the normal operation of the emmision's system purge valve.
I think the P0705 error is unrelated to the first 3 and should be handled seperately. Neutral safety switch issue?

Transaxle range switch. At the very least you can check the wiring to the connector, the condition of the connector itself and make sure the connection is good.
