Default 2002 sonata starting woes

HELP!!!!!!!
My 2002 v6 sonata wont start. I had no issues with it the day before but today when I went to use its a no go. When i turn the key I hear a low humming for about 8 seconds from under the hood on the right side (facing foward), This is the usual thing that happens when you start it up. The battery is good, all the power is working in the car...windows, locks, radio, lights. etc. Since we had the alarm problem a few years back and we had to reset it in order for to reset the kill switch I tried the open the door and set the alarm off put the key in for 30 seconds thing and that didnt work. I tried removing the battery cables to maybe reset something but that didnt work. Would the ignition switch be the next thing to look at and is this an inexpensive fix that I can do myself? I really dont want to bring it in and have them do a computer diagnosis because you are at their mercy. Is there anyway for me to check the computer for error messages so I can diagnsis it myself?
Thanks in advance for you help!!!!!!!!'
Robert

Check the starter itself.

I believe when that goes doesnt it click. I hear nothing from the starter as I try to start the car. The starter has been replaced within the last few years as well.
