2002 Sonata V6 GLS problem
I just bought a 2002 Sonata V6 GLS automatic this past Monday (06/18/04) and everything was peachy. Earlier tonight (Thursday) on my drive home (less than60k miles ) I was coming up a steep hill, and all of a sudden the car started rapidly decelerating, like the engine is die. It seemed like it downshifted because you could hear it rev up as it slowed down and the RPM needle shot up by 1,000-1,500. And the engine willoperate normal somehow afew sec later.
This problem is now consistent, at all speeds. It will either accelerate way more than is needed with *NO* change on the gas pedal, or decelerate rapidly and seemingly downshift.
the car ran rough and keep sputter and die in the middle on the road when i driving.
i repair few time but still same...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

RE: 2002 Sonata V6 GLS problem
Does your Check Engine Light come on? The two most common sensors that make the car behave strangely or not run at all, are the throttle position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. If not one of those, there are several other sensors to check. Could also be a transmissionoutput shaft speed sensor.
The other thing is to check back with the dealer and found out what kind of transmission fluid was used. Hyundais REQUIRE SP-III fluid, not Dexron, Mercon, or "universal" fluids. Using the wrong fluid can make the transmission act up. If the dealer did the service, and they used anything but SP-III AT fluid, they owe you a new transmission.

The engine is fine...not show any error light.
I just wan to know why the car still can ran roughbut it will keep sputter and die in the middle on the road somehow when i driving.
When i detect, it show:
P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected
What is tat???
isn't the electric current system,(wiring system-plug) or flue injection system wrong?
i spend a lot money on it already but the result still same.
