2004 Sonata brakes losing pressure?
Hi!
I'm new here and have a question.... Please be patient as I know next to nothing about my nor anyone else's cars.
My brakes seem to be losing pressure on the pedal sometimes when I stop. I press the pedal, it feels normal, and in the midst of stopping, it like depresses, but the car still continues to stop. It does not feel like the brakes are worn out, and there is no grinding or anything else going on other than it feels kind of like the air is being let out of a balloon. Does anyone know what I am feeling?
I was thinking along the lines that maybe I need some brake fluid? Please help me as I am CLUELESS!
Oh, and I will take it in if need be, but if it is just something like fluid, can I do that myself?
Thank you!!

I would think it could be an issue with the brake fluid. The first thing to do would be to check the brake fluid level and make sure that it is correct. If it's low add some of the specified fluid to bring it up to the correct level.
If that solves the problem great but you still want to determine why the level dropped. It will drop somewhat as the pads wear down but it could also be a leak.
If there is no change in the issue it's probably best to take the car into a shop you trust to have them look at it. There could be some air in the system or the fluid is just old and should be changed. Either way that type of thing is best left to someone who has experience bleeding the brake system.
