2008 Sonata V6 "MIL" (Malfunction Indicator Light)
I have a 2008 Sonata V6 and love the car! A few small problems have occured.. ( the CD gets stuck in the CD player once in a while ) and awhile back we had a minor problem with the (airbag warning light.. which the dealer checked out).
The WARNING LIGHT (#18, in the book) MIL has come on and stays on.. the book says "Check Engine-Malfunction Indicator Light".
The word, "Malfunction" kind of scares me.. although the car seems to be running fine.
Does anybody know what this be.. perhaps a "computer malfunction" ?
Has anybody had an experience with warning light #18???
Has anybody else experienced any "minor" or "major" problems with their 2008 Hyundai Sonata with the might V6??
I look forward to any and all comments..
Peace on the trail.. (or highway!)

Don't sweat the Check Engine Light. It could be anything from major to minor. For example, if you don't tighten the gas cap enough it could sett off the CEL. If the CEL is on then there is a code stored in the computer. That code will tell you what the problem is. You can buy a code reader or go to a local auto parts store that reads codes for free.
