2009 Sonata leather seat problem
I have 16,000 miles on the car and the leather seats have bunched up. The dealer fixed them around 12,000 miles causing them to wrinkle where the orignal folds had been and now a new fold has started up. The passenger seats did the same, which they also fixed, and are now doing it again.
The attached picture is the driver's side seat.
The Hyundai factory service rep and the delaer's service manager said this is normal wear and tear.
Could anybody with the leather seats take a pic of their driver side seat and email me along with the mileage so I have something to show Hyundai as a comparison?
If so, send it to wramorgan@gmail.com
Thanks

Quality issue
I have owned a number of cars with leather and some do wrinkle, but never with such few miles.
If many of the 2009's do wrinkle then it would seem to be a quality issue with the seat material, based on my experience with other leather seats in mulitple other manufacturers. If it is only mine then it would seem to be a defect in my car.
Either way, if you have a 2009 and it has wrinkled this soon, I would like to know. If not, I would like pictures to show the dealer as evidence mine is individualy defective.

I gotta say that looks like normal wear. Every time you sit, slide, twist or move in that seat, it creates stress & wear.
I'd consider it normal on my Hugo Boss shoes also after 2 years of ownership.

The puckered portion of the seat shown in the picture is what I am referring to. The material does not smooth out after I leave it, even days later. Like I said earlier, I have owned Chevies, Fords, Cadillacs and a BMW with 200,000 miles on it that looked better the day I sold it then this does less than 2 years after I bought it.

General quality issue
After viewing numerous saet pics on Autotrader of 2009 Sonata limiteds it appears quite obvious the leather seats are of extremely poor quality. Almost everyone I looked at had puckered or bunched up leather on the driver side. Even some with as little as 8,000 miles.
This seems to be unique to the Sonata line, so plan on getting the leather replaced before you try and sell it.
Unfortunate quality issue for a car that seem to have so much else going for it.
