Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I was wondering if there are any updates on these vehicles. It seems that this is an issue that a lot of people have been having with the 2012 HEV model, and I am having it too.

The same symptoms of hesitations and almost misfire-like performance when accelerating from low speeds. Sometimes these symptoms will get really bad and the Service Hybrid System message will pop up. After a key cycle, the message disappears for a bit until the exact right conditions are repeated. One other thing that I noticed was a slight surge from the engine when first started up for the day.
