Burning Oil
My 2013 Hyundai Sonata is burning oil. There is no leak and no smoke. Just using oil at a rapid pace and turning oil black. What is the problem? Wasn't having this problem before emy oil change and now I've placed about 5 quarts of oil in a little over a month.

Before offering any worthwhile explanation, it is important to be sure of what we suspect.
One thing we can do to help be somewhat sure it is actually burning the oil , is to look at the spark plugs. If there are heavy deposits on the spark producing area , that could help confirm that suspicion. Without knowing that for sure , we only get speculation.

Replace PCV Valve
My 2011 Sonata started to burn oil at about 65,000 miles. Oil loss occured mostly with highway driving.
Replaced PCV valve and the problem went away.
PCV valves are cheap and you can replace with a pair of pliars. Use Google to find YouTube videos on procedure. Takes a few minutes at most.
