Car Jerks when switching Gears?
I have a 2000 Hyundai Sonata automatic 4 cylinder engine that has 136000 miles. I recently (2 months ago) replaced my radiator and had my transmission flushed b/c my radiator went out and started to mix the radiator and transmission fluid together. My car has been driving fine since then but last night I was getting in my car and switched it to reverse my car jerked hard. I put it in drive and it also jerked. When driving in reverse it seems to be fine but when in drive it slips and I have to apply more gas in order for it to move. What could be the problem? I went out of town over the weekend and checked my fluids such as oil, transmission, etc. and the transmission fluid level was fine.

Who did the work - Hyundai or independent ?
Did they use correct oil in the trans ?
MIL illuminated ?
Got codes ? Trans is controlled by trans controller tied into engine controller to share information.
May be the trans is on its' way out...

@sbr711 It was an independent mechanic. The MIL light is illuminated; I haven't been able to get it checked because my car is at my house and this problem occurred last night and I am reluctant to drive it. @NovaResource I dont know if it was serviced every 30,0000 miles; I just bought the car May 09. It had 106000 when I bought it and I had it serviced regularly.

You going to have to get it somehwere to have it scanned and see what code(s) you got so we know where to begin the diagnosis.. drive it or tow it.
