2011 Hyundai Sonata - weird noise while in gear. Doesn't make the noise when in park (or perhaps, not as noticeable). Doesn't always do it, had our mechanic change the oil, check the engine mounts, and it never made the noise there :-(.
The engine does shake when making the noise.
Otherwise, very, very strong running with 165K miles on replacement engine (@115k - by Hyundia).
Any thoughts?

Where does it sound loudest? front -rear, engine compartment, under vehicle?

What does the noise sound like, grinding,screaming, rubbing ?

What are you doing driving when the noise appears?

Does it do it when moving, standing still , cold engine warmed up ?
So as you can see the more info you can provide the better chance we have of what to check..

- It's coming from the Engine, which is shaking during this period

- Engine compartment.

- diesel engine. But goes away if throttle is applied. Doesn't happen often.

- in gear move forward or backwards, very slow.

What other kind of maintenance was done other than oil changes since replaced?
