Default Heater Fan

1999

My heater fan/(blower) seems to have a mind of its own.

Refuses to work for a couple of weeks and then starts to operate OK, during the summer it didn't matter but it does now.

Have checked fuses etc and all seems OK.

Is this a known problem and (more importantly) is there a simple fix?

If not a simple fix, advice on how to go about mending it would be appreciated.

Could it be some kind of relay problem?

If so, where would I find the relay?

Thanks

I have an old Escort; when this kind of thing started happening I ended up replacing the control unit in the dash. Of course, Escort heater controls are easier to come by... but check ebay, you never know. It might be something else entirely though...

I lived with the Escort stuff like that for several months before I figured it out.

Would the relay be behind the heater control or the back of the glovebox?

Advice on how to get at it would be appreciated.

Thanks
