Dealer serviced it prior to putting it on the lot. Air filter looked a little dirty when I checked it. Tried to get one at Walmart but they don't stock it so it's on my to do list. I live in Minnesota and the temp since buying it has been below freezing. And I use a remote start to let it warm up for 10 minutes most days. Pretty much all town driving. Mileage still seems low. My friends 08 get 18 in town, also uses a remote start.

Have you thought maybe it has to do with letting it idle 10mins in sub freezing temps without driving it right away? Modern engines use way more gas idling in sub zero temps when they're in open loop, like an older engine with the choke on. Try not using remote start, and don't let the cold engine idle more than a min before driving it, see how much the mpgs change. Maybe you should consider installing a block heater, that will help alot. If the dealer actually serviced the car, they should have replaced a dirty air filter, unless they're blind.

saying a dealer is blind is an oxy-moron, a technician doesn't have stake in the matter and i trust them to do their job.

anyway, its possible. 13 was just an all time low. i'm driving 5hr round trip tomorrow. see what that amounts to

I drove it today, topped it off before I left town, 230 miles later I topped off again at 8 gallons. 28.75mpg. 70mph with a few stops. Not bad for winter gas.
