Default Hyundai Sonata 2008-noise

Hi Guys,
I have a hyundai sonata (4 cylinder) and it is around 31 K.
I am seeing a strange problem while driving as I feel some kind of sound ( as if you drive on a curb or rugged road ) and it is some kind of vibration. This thing happens especially on slower speed only (~40mph). At that time, if I take my leg off from acceleratot, I won't feel it. This is not continous..it comes now and then. Once i told this issue to dealer and he said it is with tires and they are not balanced and I am suppose to change the tires. I did balancing and wheel alignment but still having this problem. Is this with tires or some kind of transmission problem.
I really appreciate if some one gives some suggestion.
Thanks

If you have 31K on the car...

Are they original tires?
Did you rotate your tires on time?
Did you make sure they had proper air pressure?

If the tires are original, and you failed to rotate them on time, then probably you need new tires. OEM tires are never very good anyway.

I concur. Have the tires looked at. 31K in one year is a lot of driving. The original tires on my Tib only lasted 28K.

my 07 sonata came with michelin tires. i also have a caddy and the website always talks about magical dealer only tires that ride so much better than store bought tires. supposed to be super secret stock that just rides better. than other people say tires that come on new cars are flat out junk and wear out too fast and any aftermarket tire is better. i don't know what to say other than that my sonata handles flat out like crap unless its going straight down the road. rides nice and quiet in a straight line but turns like hell. no grip what so ever. oh, only 16k miles too. if it was not a lease i would be all over a new set of wheels/tires.

I had a brand new 2000 Sonata with Michelin MXV tires. I figured they must be really great. But they didn't last long, and were garbage in the rain and snow. Someone said they were "Made in China" Michelins.

It sounds like it might be the transmission torque converter issue that there was a TSB for. I think the problem showed up at that speed and was applicable to the four-cylinder Sonatas. If so, your dealer will have to do a re-flash of the TCM to correct the issue.

Go to www.hmaservice.com to check if this TSB describes your problem.
