I purchased a 2011 Sonata Limited with nav on May 10th and overall I absolutely love the car. I've experienced a small issue with it that I though others might be interested in hearing about.

A few days after I took delivery of the car, I began to notice a VERY irratating squeek/rattle coming from the passenger side front door/right side of the dashboard. The noise appeared whenever I was driving on anything but a perfectly smooth road and it sounded like there were two plastic pieces rubbing together. It was the most aggravating sound you could ever imagine! I searched and searched and could not find the cause of the noise, so I finally broke down and took it to the dealership yesterday. They determined that the noise was coming from the glovebox and that it was the weight of owner's manual causing the noise! They were right! Apparently, the weight of the owners manual and associated documentatiion causes the door of the glovebox to rub on the dashboard surround. Problem solved!

Now, I just have to find someplace to store the owner's manual!!!

 

Is the latch adjustable -or- have you ever seen the little round self-stick felt discs meant for cabinet doors? My '70 Mach 1 has had a similar problem since I purchased it in '77.... several of those little felt sticky things every couple of years shut it right up.
