Did you even think that miss-information might be the reason?

J, most of the time you have great, informative posts but sometimes you post stuff that is totally incorrect and biased by your opinions.

This was an awesome and informative post:

But there there are posts like these which are just wrong:
https://www.hyundaiforum.com/forum/s...76&postcount=2 (20,000 mile engine break-in?!)
https://www.hyundaiforum.com/forum/s...13&postcount=6 (synthetic oil is bad for older engines?!)

Hello Gents!
I just purchased a used 2008 Hyundai Sonata GLS with the 3.3 Ltr V6 and has 38,000 miles. Is there any way to check to see if my vehicle has had this done. I bought this vehicle at a Ford Delearship and they did not give me any detailed information on the vehicle as far as what repairs were done? It was a rental turn in and wonder if rental companies allow Hyundai to fix these items? Thanxs for any info.

The timing chain tensioner was a TSb (technical service bulletin) not a recall. Not all cars need it done. Only if the engine is making a tapping noise during startup does the tensioner need to be checked/replaced. If the engine is quiet, it's fine.
