Default New shoes for the Sonata - Yokohama Avid ENvigor

I've managed to get 31,200 miles out of the OEM Michelin Energy MXV4 tires. I think I could have squeezed another 3 to 5,000 miles out of the Michelins, but they were getting bad for road noise in the cabin and snow is coming. I started shopping for tires and immediate suffered sticker shock. The 215/55R17 V/H speed rated perfromance all season radial used on the Limited is pretty pricey regardless of the brand. The cheapest tire I came across was a 50,000 mile Mastercraft priced at $152 each. I also discovered in my area, nearly all dealers stock a very limited number of choices in this size. Costco had the Bridgestone Turazo Serenity for $177 ea and the Michelin Primancy MXV4 for $206 ea. I found the Toyo Versado for $188 each. I've used a lot of Cooper tire in the past 15 years and have been satisfied with them. A Cooper CS4 was $165. I finally came across the Yokohama Avid ENvigor, which also happened to be on sale. I've used Geolanders on trucks, but never thought of looking at Yokohama for car tires. I guess this is a totally new 80,000 mile, low rolling resistant design made from one of the new siliconized rubber compounds that provides good traction and control characteristics on dry, wet, and snow. Suppose to be a very quiet tire as well. Price, including mounting, balance, road hazard and disposal fee for the Michelins was $167 each. I'll try to keep the forum posted on how well these skins work out.

Might I suggest:
- Kumho Ecsta ASX $98-each (TireRack.com)
- Kumho Solus KH16 $104-each (TireRack.com)
- Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum $114-each (TireRack.com)
- Continental ExtremeContact DWS $121-each (TireRack.com)
- BFGoodrich Advantage T/A $122-each (TireRack.com)

I had the Kumho ASX on my Tiburon and loved them. And I'm considering the Kumho LX Platinum and Continental DWS as two choices for replacing the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS tires on my Tucson now.
