I have a 2011 with six speaker system plus sub woofer
WO navigation With Sub Woofer.
Very disapointed by the sound system and was also thinking about replacing the door speakers, how did this work out for you.
I ended up replacing the speakers from Crutchfield, bought the boston acoustics for around 120 a pair, great improvment.
Rear door speakers have full sound so use a two way, front door speakers are base only so you need to replace tweeter in dashboard also, new tweeters in the dash realy help. All stock speakers are labeled 2 ohm impedance? nobody makes that. the four ohm speakers still have pleanty of volume. this is actually less strain on the amp.

I replaced all my speakers and installed an alpine hx 650 signal processor and an alpine amp. Sound is much improved. This was the only system I could fine that allowed me to keep the factory head and steering wheel button functionality.
I mounted tweeters on the front door sails and disconnected the dash mids.

removing sail
I am cautious removing the sail and afraid of breaking it, do these parts just pry up or do you move towards one dirrection? these are the first plastic parts to remove the door trim on either front or back door. Thanks

Yes. The sails just pop straight out. They are held on pretty tightly so it does require some effort. I actually had to cut out one of the mounting tabs on the sail to get my tweeters mounted as they required a hole for mounting. The remaining tab still holds it on tightly though.
Best of luck
