i have a 03 tiburon, 2.7L 5 speed, when I am driving it it shifts very hard but the worst part is when I am driving my car will just stop accelerating when i still have the petal down. The engine is still responding though because I can hear the cold air intake breathing heavily. The RPM's stay the same. When it stops accelerating I tap the gas and it jerks and starts accelerating again. My friend told me it may be my sinc rows (excuse the spelling) in my transmission. I have been driving stick all my life so it is not bad driving habits. I'm just curious what ya'lls thoughts are on this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

03 have been know for having clutch problems. if someone on here can't help you, i would take it to the dealer, i beleive there was a recall on 03's for the clutchs but i'm not certain. how many miles are on it? have you ever replaced the clutch?

 

to be completely honest i dont know if the clutch was ever replaced i bought the car with 91000 miles on it and now it has 99000 miles on it. I am hoping it is just the clutch because i know tranny problems are usually expensive and let be honests the economy is not well right now lol
