Default 06 Tiburon Pricing Question

I went to the dealership today and looked at the 06 GS automatic. The salesman is offering me the car for $16,900. What do you guys think is that a good deal or do you think I can talk him down a bit more? Have any of you bought the GS for a better price? Maybe through the Costco program or fleet department?

Is the Tuberon just as reliable as a Honda or Toyota? Does the delearship honor the 100k warranty without hassle?

-Thanks

Can't give you an exact parallel, but I just bought an '06 GT V-6 w/ auto for $18,100 (in New Jersey) , using AAA........ Your deal sounds fine.......

I'm taking a shot with this car (my first Hyundai) because of the reported (and perceived) reliability, and warranty....... That said, NOTHING is as reliable as a Toyota or Honda.

Good Luck with your purchase

Bought a used 2006 top of the line SE with 1700miles for $16,900. You should be able to get better price than that. Its getting to the end of the 2006 model year. Depends on the GS options you get but I know they are selling for less than what he offered you. My girl just bought a GS auto with sunroof, spoiler and 17inch wheels for $15,670. Its an 06 with 102miles.

When I went to get a price for a 06 Tib GT, auto, with premiuim pkg they offered me $20,500. I didn't sign anything or leave a deposit. Said I'd call them. I then online to check out EDMUNDS.COM. It was very simple to choose your model, then optional pkgs, and colors. Then they tell you what other people in your area are paying. My new price is more like 19,320.

I sent then an email saying that if we can agree on this exact price, I'll make a deposit on the car Friday. Two days later he called and said "We can make that deal". So tomorrow morning I just might have me a new BLACK Tiburon GT!!!

Does anyone think I should try to get it for even less?? Has anyone gotten it for a lot less?

I checked out Edmunds for you:

GS AUTO: 16,489 - 1,000 rebate = 15,489 (This is without any options)

GS MANUAL: 15660 -1,000 rebate = 14,660 (Also without options)

When I go there tomorrow, I'm bringing a copy of the Edmund's report to cut down on the haggling.
