1999 Tiburon No-start
Frustrated with this one. Suspected a Crank Position Sensor but no such luck. ECM is not grounding the fuelpump relay. Swapped ECM with no result. Replaced CamPS, CranKPs, Ignition Coil and battery. Cleaned throttle body, Idle Air Control and Mass AirFlow sensor. The ECM won't communicate with my generic computer and I would have to have it towed to a Hyundai dealer for analysis. The MIL is not on and there aren't any codes to retrieve. When I ground the fuel pump circuit, the pump runs fine. The engine cranks normally but will not start. No sounds indicating timing belt but will check that next. My question: If I de-pressurize the fuel rail, should the fuel pump prime when ignition is turned to ON position before starting or does the ECM need a crank and cam signal before it will ground the fuel pump relay?
I have the shop manual and have tested all the relays and MFI components without results. Thanks for reading.
