2008 tiburon performance

RE: 2008 tiburon performance
If its a 5 speed, get a lightwieght flywheel(10-11lbs), will be one of the best upgrades you can do, match that with an race clutch and it will feel like a whole new car. Stay away from piggy-back type "chips", they will cause more harm then good. If you get a nos kit, get a wet system, a little more reliable, and if you do a turbo set up, be sure to keep the boost around 4-5psi unless you lower the compression of the engine, which can be done two ways, the better way is to basically rip apart the engine and swap pistons, or i know www.seoulfulracing.com has a head gasket that claims to lower the compression to 8.5:1, though i havn't heard anything good or bad about doing it that way. Good luck.

As far as turbos, if i specialize in anything that would be it, and you dont need to lower the compression if you go over 4psi.. the key is you need to actulay use a tunning software. One of the most comon used is megasquirt. takes a little soldering abilities, and wiring skills, but will provide you a effective meens of adjusting your afrs, and has abilites to adjust timing.
But if you just buy a turbo kit, and use the FMU that it comes with then yea, dont go boostin over 5psi.. However i would not recomend sepending the money on a turbo kit, and not properly managing it.

Well,,i had a stock clutch in my car, installed when the lightwieght fly was put in, and since i've changed to a stage 1 race clutch because the stock clutches do slip with engine upgrades and agressive driving, plus if he were to put a nos kit on or a turbo, its better to have the clutch done ahead of time. If you're not gonna do any other engine upgrades, then yes, stick with a stock clutch, but if not, its better to have it done and be happy, then to waste money and have to do it twice.

lol... Its not natural, and every time it grinds you are putting tiny pieces of metal from your syncros in to your transmission fluit. it will only get worse the more it hapens. I recomend insisting that its not normal and that they fix it...

I have an 08 4cyl as well. I want a turbo kit. Does anyone have links to some full turbo kit options for the Tiburon. I heard you can get a pretty good kit for around $2000. then buy a tibby manifold.
I found a kit from Shark racing and NGM, but they are like 4500. couple people in that forum said they got theirs for much cheaper but couldnt say, as they have been warned about promoting other manufactures items in that dedicated NGM forum. So I came here.
The NGM turbo claims up to 350hp+ on stock parts. With proper tunning. I just need a kit for around 300whp.
What do you guys think??
