Hiya all.
Im new to this forum and Im really hoping you guys can help me out. I recently purchased a 99 Tiburon auto for my daughter. It has covered only 110000kms and is in great shape. Except....for the tranny. It runs and shifts great until it tries to shift into top gear( I assume 4th) this is when its goes into kind of a false neutral and revs freely until I take my foot off the gas, then as the revs drop it engages and drives beautifully.
I had it at the stealership and they believed it was a faulty pressure soleniod which was a part of a recall that this vehicle was 10 lousy days out of and Hyundai refused to cover the cost. I paid $115 for the diagnostic which no codes came up and $280 to replace the solenoid. The problem still remains. The same shop put Lucas trans fix in and told me to drive it for 500kms as they now believe it was the seals, or, it needs a new trans. Come on! its only done 110000kms!! Ive driven 180kms and no change at all, it still pops into a free reving neutral. Any thoughts appreciated.
