Default air bag seats

hey guys,
this is a non hyundai related question, but most of you on here have general knowlege so i figured one of you would be able to help.

Ok, my friend has a honda accord and we are planning on ripping out the interior, but he has air bag seats and we were just wondering if there is anything we have to do before takign them out so the air bags don't deploy in our faces.
Its an 01 accord, 4 door, 2.4L I4. hope someone can help

Default RE: air bag seats

Assuming the seat bags function like the dash bags, you need to disconnect the battery and walk away from the car for 30 minutes to an hour. You need to give the system more than enough time for the airbag system capacitors to completely discharge. You can use a voltmeter to check across the disconnected straps to make sure.
