Default blower wont shut off

looking to buy a tiburon.. its a 03, and the guy says the blower is always on speed 3 no matter if its on off or 1,2,4 ect.. he said it doesnt turn off unless the car is turned off... would this be fixed by just getting a new climate control unit? or is there a relay or something else affecting this? thanks.. also what interval should the timing belt be replaced?

Sounds like 1 we had a while back... white car, has the electronic HVAC control head with orange background/screen ? I think it was close to $900 for a new control head, add labor... everything is in the control head.

Timing belt --> 60,000 +/- a couple mile, add drive belt(s) too while they off, only cost will be the part.

V-6 should get plugs and wires too (while apart), upgrade from Platinum to the NGK Iridium, better plug for similar price or less.

If it is a V6 M/T car, make sure the clutch assembly been replaced with the updated parts, as the old style were not the best... we had 1 in with complaint... tech hit bench pulling into stall because clutch popped on him while he had foot on pedal..

HVAC = Heating Ventalation Air Conditioning

This is the auto unit..

Things to watch for on Tiburon, pay "YOUR" technician to do a used car inspection, don't go by sellers word.

Rear calipers and handbrake cables, cables move back-forth, arms on calipers move back-forth freely... common for the arms to sieze and drag the pads on rear.

Clutch, V6.... make sure it has new style parts, at that mileage, it likely been replaced already, a long time ago. Maintanance receipts/files/regular oil changes, filters, air & cabin..

Body control module - look at tag and make sure it is the latest, 954480-2C32, put 1 in yesterday at $700 for the module, and $135 install, add previous diag time @ $90. ... Should be able to see number if you remove the OBD/fuse panel access cover there on lower dash.

Been a number of recalls, a couple module updates (programs). Seat belt buckle wires for SRS codes, replace the buckles when appropriate code comes up.

There more tire (wider/lower profile, the more you need to pay attention to alignment..
